Vehicle lockouts are one of the most common jobs we attend
in Northumberland and North Tyneside. It's easily done, keys left on the seat, in
the boot, and lost car keys are all common reasons to become locked out of your
vehicle. It could even be a fob or remote that has stopped responding, or a lock that
has simply given up. Whatever the cause, we can gain access to your vehicle
without causing any damage to the door, lock or trim, using the same
non-destructive entry approach we take with

We aim to reach you within 30 to 60 minutes and cover the whole of Northumberland and North Tyneside, so whether you are at home in Cramlington or stuck in a car park in Shiremoor, help is never far away.

If you’ve lost your only car we can cut and code a brand new key even though you don't have a spare for us to copy from. We can decode the door locks to work out the cuts on your key. We can also retrieve the code used to operate your central locking, alarm and immobiliser. Once the job is completed you will have a fully working car key that functions exactly the same as the one you lost.
Many used vehicles are only supplied with one key. Its always worth getting a second spare key cut and programmed. It costs a lot less to have a spare car key made than it does if all keys have been lost.
Replacement keys from main dealerships are expensive and can take days or weeks to arrive. As a mobile auto locksmith, we can cut and programme a replacement key there and then. Our car keys are a fraction of the dealer cost and without the long waiting time.
All modern vehicles use transponder keys containing a chip that communicates with the car's immobiliser. If that chip is not recognised, the engine will not start regardless of whether the key turns in the ignition barrel. We programme transponder keys for a wide range of makes and models, whether all keys have been lost or an additional key needs adding to the system.

When a remote key or proximity key fob stops working it is not always just a straightforward battery swap. We can diagnose faults, supply and programme remote keys and proximity fobs across a wide range of vehicles. We can get central locking and keyless entry functioning correctly again without the need to visit a main dealer.
There's still many older vehicles out there that use traditional keys that still need to be turned in the door and boot locks to open them. Car Keys snap in locks more often than most people expect, particularly on older vehicles where the key has become worn over time. We see this a lot in Whitley Bay and Tynemouth, where locks have rusted inside due to corrosion from the sea air. A key broken in a door lock or ignition barrel needs careful extraction to avoid causing further damage and lead to more expense.
We carry specialist extraction tools to remove broken keys. Once the key is out we can assess the condition of the barrel, repair it if necessary and cut a replacement to get you back on the road.
Ignition barrels wear out gradually and suffer some common faults. This can range from a key that sticks and is difficult to turn, through to a barrel that has failed completely and either won't turn at all or traps the key inside.

We carry out ignition barrel repairs and replacements across a range of vehicle types and will always give straightforward advice on whether a repair or full replacement is the right call before any work begins.
